OIL AND GAS ACTIVITIES OF THE GOVERNMENT OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

Sabahans have been concerned that the Federal Government of Malaysia had relinquished the two blocks (L and M) to Brunei. The two Blocks are not far from the Sabah coast but do they belong to the State of Sabah still? Murphy Sabah Co Ltd was awarded the two blocks in 2003 worth more than US$100 billion in oil revenue. However, the state may no longer have the right to demand the amount since both blocks have been ceded to Brunei. The Official web-site of The Government of Brunei Darussalam (petroleum unit) clearly stated the activities of the unit which includes Block L and M.
